NARRATIVE AND RHETORICAL ANALYSIS
Based on an Article by Gabor Mates
Goal:
Use all the theories from Narrative Paradigm and Aristotelian Rhetoric and relate them to a persuasion article of our choice. In the end we were to determine how well the article persuades the audience.
Project Statement:
For this paper I Chose an article called “Don’t ostracize drug users- empathize with them” by Gabor Mate. I related the article to Fishers Narrative Paradigm, looking at it as a compelling story. I also related Gabor Mates piece to concepts such as ethos, pathos and logos. All of these ideas and concepts are ways in which writers may attempt to persuade their audience.
